Emily Hanna
Emily is currently doing a PhD on extinction risk in
native Australian vertebrates under the supervision of Dr Marcel Cardillo.
Emily is determining patterns of extinction risk within the vertebrate classes
by examining the relationships between the native species and numerous
extinction risk factors, such as range overlap with introduced animals.
Differences in extinction risk between classes (e.g., mammals and birds), and
certain family groups (e.g., bats and marsupials) are being studied. Latent
risk and the possible effects of climate change on extinction risk of these
species, families, and classes will also be determined.
