Brett Calcott
Brett is a post-doctorate researcher supervised by both a philosopher (Kim Sterelny) and an evolutionary biologist (Lindell Bromham). He is interested in the evolution of biological complexity. He asks himself questions like: What does it take for something to be biologically complex; what kinds of explanations can be given for putative instances of it; and under what conditions we might expect an evolutionary process to produce it? His favourite model system is ant sociality, about which he talks incessantly, even when sober.
